escapism and pretty things

well, hello there.

i haven't posted on this thing in far longer than a year, but for some reason i have been drawn back to wanting to have a blog, for whatever silly reason i would want one.

this time, that silly reason is to try out posting a series of photographs i am quite proud of. i think it's funny that i still cling to the idea that i am a creative person when i don't put nearly as much effort into being creative as i wish i did. so, every once in a while, i take some pictures that i think look really pretty, or i paint my dresser, or create a photo clothesline (all of which i have done in the past week and a half.. maybe i was feeling the need for some sort of outlet?).

anywho, i went down to los angeles two weekends ago to hang out with two friends of mine who were visiting from detroit. lauren is one of my oldest friends, and i always feel gloriously happy when i see her and remember how selfless and fulfilling our friendship is, no matter how long it has been since we have seen each other. i drove down to LA and back again, and i actually really enjoyed the drive. i have had a lot to think out and process in the past month and a half, and the drive provided plenty of in-my-head time. we stayed at a hostel in hollywood, went to disneyland, strolled around the beach, and cruised in the canyons. it was all around a great escape, and i have felt much calmer since i returned.

this is kevin and lauren, the lovely duo i met up with in socal.

YAY! you are posting! I was so happy to see you too. I feel so special now. You need to send me a picture of you in your belt, the image I took didn't turn out :(
I can't wait to hear more from you. Your painted your dresser? I wanna see!
